Rosemary Essential Oil: The primary use for rosemary in this product is to deter harmful insects that may bite you or infest your garden, a natural alternative to chemical products. Used in aromatherapy, Rosemary Oil helps reduce stress levels and nervous tension, boost mental activity, encourage clarity and insight, relieve fatigue, and support respiratory function. It is used to improve alertness, eliminate negative moods, and increase the retention of information by enhancing concentration.
Citronella Essential Oil: Citronella oil is often used as an insect repellent, although research has indicated it may also have antifungal properties and help with wound healing. Used in aromatherapy applications, Citronella Essential Oil slows or prevents the growth or spread of harmful airborne bacteria, repels flying insects, uplifts negative moods, and relaxes the body and mind. It is reputed to reduce muscles spasms, ease headaches, and boost energy.
Peppermint Essential Oil: In traditional herbalism, practitioners may use peppermint to: kill germs, stop itching, relieve pain, prevent or reduce vomiting, help the body eliminate mucus, reduce muscle spasms, reduce flatulence, and boost blood circulation.
Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is one of the most popular and versatile essential oils used in aromatherapy. This one smells more like fresh lavender and is considered the "cream of the crop" when it comes to lavender. The fragrance from the oils of the lavender plant is believed to help promote calmness and wellness. It is believed to help reduce stress, anxiety, and possibly even mild pain. Many also use it for fungal infections, allergies, depression, insomnia, eczema, nausea, and menstrual cramps. It is purported to have anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Tea Tree Essential Oil: Studies have shown that it kills several common bacteria and viruses responsible for causing illness. It may help keep pesky insects away and its antifungal properties may help alleviate symptoms of athlete’s foot. In regards to topical use, it is an antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes. It may help speed wound healing by reducing inflammation and increasing white blood cell activity. Products with tea tree oil have been shown to reduce the number of lesions and severity of acne in a number of studies. It can also help combat skin inflammation.
Coconut oil is incredibly moisturizing and contains caprylic acid along with other compounds that provide strong antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Because it is made up of medium chain fatty acids it helps to reduce dryness and allow your skin to retain moisture. It provides a protective barrier, helping shield skin from environmental toxins, dirt and other icky stuff you’re faced with everyday. This oil has a soothing, calming effect and can help reduce temporary redness when it pops up. If you’re prone to irritations or sensitivity, coconut oil can help to alleviate any discomfort and provide soothing relief.
Cocoa Butter contains a high amount of fatty acids, which make it well-suited as a primary ingredient in skin cream. Fatty acids help to hydrate the skin. The fat in cocoa butter creates a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents your skin from drying.
Beeswax contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties as well. Beeswax contains Vitamin A, which helps protect skin cells from environmental irritants while helping to regulate skin regeneration. If you suffer from dry skin itchiness, dermatitis or eczema, beeswax helps heal these conditions while at the same time providing itch relief.
